First of all, my apologies to those of you subscribed to the blog feed, for the Test post. I realized that after I had put the test post and taken it off.
I have been wanting to re-design this blog for sometime and ofcourse do it on the cheap or even for free. I had asked for some help and quite a few of the readers offered to help, however for some reason or other the re-design did not work out.
Recently blogger introduced some new enhancement and so I decided to go for some changes. I have a preference for the minimalist design approach, which involves stripping down a website to its most fundamental features. I personally hate cluttered websites.
I spent hours tweaking and changing and revising and you see the final version which ….is the same as the old one :). I am just joking. I have kept the original design intact and tried to simplify it and will continue doing it further. I know most of you visit my blog for its great design 🙂
So please leave feedback in the comments section on what further changes you would like.
Hi Rohit,The title and the looong subtitle are more “noticeable” now. It will be good if you decrease the font size of the latter by at least 2 levels.Otherwise, I have been a regular visitor for the great design indeed 😛
Hi rathinthanks for the comment. which font are you referring to ? header or the post ?on amrutanjan, i checked the price and did it hurt !!!the price is now 1200+ ..missed a double here 🙂 ..anyway win some lose somergdsrohit
Hi luckyyes, the subtitle is quite glaring now. i have actually removed and will will reworking the title soon.thanks for the comment thoughrgdsrohit
Hey Rohit. When I checked your website with the new layout, from my office network, I observed it was hanging a lot before the entire page showed up. The other websites were working very fast on the same network. Don't know if it is something on your website that is causing the slowness. The same happened even when I clicked the link for your Comments pop-up, to write this comment.I actually killed the instance of browser a couple of times, thinking it may have completely hung. But this time I waited patiently to know that it comes up but after quite some time.Let me get back home to see if from my home network too, it is coming slow. Otherwise it is pretty decent. I am the last person to review colour, font, etc because I am aesthetically challenged!
Hi sachinthanks for the feedback. i added a search button from google and that slowed down the whole website load.i have taken it off and a bunch of other widgets. my aim is to simplify the blog further even it means losing some non critical pieces of it.can you check and let me know if the website is loading better ?regardsrohit
Yes, Rohit. It seems good now. Thanks!
Hi Rohit,I personally liked the older version as it was very elegant. I liked the readability of previous one…even though doesn't seem to be much of change.I think the new design is slightly crispier and fancier..any compelling reason for this change? It works for me if it does for you..:-)Thanks,Vikas
Hi victhe new design is very close to the old one in terms of layout. just different font size and some cleanupmain reason for the change was to clean up the blog and there is additional flexibility to add pages, which will allow me to highlight specific content in the future.but overall i have kept the layout same ..and would simplify it further in future
Thanks Rohit. Overall looks good.Only thing I can think of is..the section on the right side where “Investment ideas” start with larger fontsize and then reduces it to smallest: “Quick Thoughts” in the end. I understand ur reason for doing this but I think same can be achieved with something more elegant. May be something for future..u want to work on.Thanks,Vikas
Hi Rohit, I like this. Looks chic and scores higher on redability too…zenhabits.net is a blog I like on simplicity of layout and presentation. Just telling you in case you are not aware of – coz I have a liking for simple designs.

Hi vikaselegant design requires some professional to work on it and as it stands today, i am not planning to invest further in the design. later maybergdsrohit
Hi nandyi am a subscriber and fan of zenhabits for quite sometime. i am a big fan of minimalism myself ..which is a paradox considering i am chasing higher returns 🙂
